As a huge fan of Judy Garland and “The Wizard of Oz” I was “Over the Rainbow” (sorry… I had to) when I was hired to design and illustrate the cover of “Finding Dorothy” for Ballantine Books. It’s a lovely novel that tells the story behind “The Wonderful Wizard of Oz,” the book that inspired the iconic film, through the eyes of author L. Frank Baum’s wife, Maud, who meets Judy Garland when she is hired to play the beloved character Dorothy.

My lettering only made the paperback edition but swipe to see my original proposal for the jacket that I thought could be neat printed in a metallic Pantone on uncoated paper.
