Swing Time is a delightful 1936 musical comedy film set in New York City featuring some of the most beautiful art deco film sets ever created with remarkable dance sequences featuring iconic songs by Jerome Kern.

I designed the disk as a roulette wheel with the ball landing on number 36 which is the number that Fred Astaire’s character “Lucky” plays to win a contract to perform with his dance partner Ginger Rogers’s character “Penny” at the over-the-top art deco Silver Sandal. (He picks the number after pushing number 36 in the elevator to reach the Silver Sandal!) The booklet pages unfold to reveal Fred and Ginger’s iconic final dance sequence from the film.
